Word from the Pastor

Dear friend!

I am sincerely greeting you!

Our church is not called “Salvation” by chance. Every man coming into this world needs salvation from difficulties and problems, but the thing we need the most is the salvation of our soul and the eternal life with God. This is why the purpose of the teaching and the sermons preached in our church is the healing of diseases, deliverance from addictions, restoration of the relationships in families, and the most important - every man’s meeting with God Who can forgive sins and give the true happiness.

No man is obliged to attend our very church. You can attend any church where you feel good. However, we will always be glad to see both you and your family at our services and also minister to you. Our church is a family having room for everyone. We love you and God loves you! Pray and rejoice, serve and multiply, dream and build up, bring up and love and win always!

Yours sincerely,

Philip Savochka

The senior pastor and the bishop of the “Salvation” churches

10.01.2010 Pastor Yuri Savochka from the local “Salvation” church in Vasylkiv town preached in the central “Salvation” church
Rejoice, o earth, for the Son of God is born!” were the words of the carol which opened the central service of theSalvationchurch on Sunday, 10 January.

Christ is born!” pastor Mykola Savchuk called out while greeting the church. “Let’s praise Him!” all the people loudly answered together.

Some children told the church the Christmas verses, “All the nations of the world celebrate the quiet holy night and Ukrainian children worship Christ!”

Some carols were sung during the time of praise once again. The praise group led by Yevgen Kozakov sang, “Rejoice, the whole earth, for the Savior was born to us!”

The
Miriamdance group amplified the common praise with lively dancing.

A
young singer Danik Drok praised the Lord with a wonderful Christmas song during the free program.

Pastor
Tetyana Keba made the announcement that the festive Epiphany service (the Baptism of Christ) including the very ceremony of the water baptism will take place in theSalvationchurch on 19 January. While encouraging the people who had decided to enter the covenant with God on that day, pastor Tetyana read from the Book of Acts, chapter 8, from verse 26 on which speaks about the baptism of the Ethiopian eunuch. “Apostle Philip did not tell the eunuch about the water baptism for no particular reason, because it is the symbol of man’s membership of God’s nation, His Church. By being baptized a person becomes a member of God’s family, the legitimate child of God. A person who is not baptized is just a guest in God’s family. Repentance and baptism are two steps which invariably follow each other!” Pastor Tetyana called everyone, who had already repented and believed in God, not to delay, but to be baptized in order to become the full member of the family of God.

After
pastor Tetyana’s appeal the whole church prayed for the people who will be baptized on 19 January. We asked the Lord to protect them, to give them strength, to help them resist the possible temptations and stand the trials and also to bless them for this wonderful and important event.

Then the church had an opportunity to hear a wonderful testimony of one brother from the local “Salvation” church of Vasylkiv town. He told the church how the Lord had completely changed his life making a new, strong and happy man of a dying and sick alcoholic. You will have a chance to read the full text of this testimony at our web-site soon.

Pastor Yuri Savochka led the church in deep worship. “God, You are worthy to receive all honor!” the congregation sang.

Also, the church listened to the message shared by pastor Yuri. “Church! We need the renewal! Let us revise our attitude to the Word, home talks, thoughts and wishes. Do we remember the Word? Let us repent before God if the Word had become something ordinary for us and become renewed in it for the eternal life in the Lord!” he said.

After
the sermon pastor Yuri made an altar call and held the prayer of repentance for the people who had wanted to be reconciled with God that day.

The service ended with the prayer for the common needs of the church and the Lord’s Prayer.
